    Are you in need of rental assistance? Please follow our 3 step process below to submit your rental relief application.

    How it works

    At Disrupt Gives, our program will bring rental relief to tenants across who desperately need it, allowing individuals and families to stay in their homes.

    We believe that true long-term financial success is derived from education, which has led us to create a free online financial literacy program that all of our aid recipients must first undergo in order to complete their rental assistance application. This ensures recipients have the appropriate baseline knowledge and skills necessary to create long-term financial stability. 

    Please note not everyone who applies to the Disrupt Gives Rental Relief Program will get assistance. Rental assistance is solely dependent upon total funds and the number of applicants.

    Step 1

    #1 Take The Disrupt Gives Personal Finance Course

    The Disrupt Gives Financial Training Course consists of 6 short videos covering the basics of personal finance and financial planning. Please click on the button below to access the course. Please note that each video must be watched in full before taking a 16 question quiz that will advance you to completion of the application process. Your score will be automatically sent to use for review and you will be notified of the result. A score of 80% or better is required. Here are the steps you should take:

    2. Download the app for IOS or Android if using mobile phone

    3. Sign-up to create a free account 

    4. Enroll in free Personal Finance 101 Class

    Step 2

    #2 Complete the Personal Finance 101 Quiz

    This short quiz will be the completion of Personal Finance 101 found at 

    https://www.udemy.com/course/personal-finance-101/


    After watching the videos in Sections 1-4, please complete the questions for each section.

    The quiz is a total of 16 questions and you will be notified of your results. If you do not achieve a score of 80% or above, you may watch the videos and retake the quiz.

    #3 Complete The Disrupt Gives Rental Relief Application

    Please be sure to complete the Personal Finance Course and Quiz in Steps 1 and 2 before submitting your application. Your application cannot be considered until the previous steps are complete.

    What are the eligibility requirements?

    To apply for Disrupt Gives Rental Relief, an applicant must meet all of the following eligibility requirements:

    • Households must have income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
    • The applicant and or the applicants household has received a rent notice or eviction notice in the unit for which he/she/they are requesting assistance
    • The applicant must be renting an apartment unit under Emerge Living

    What's needed to apply?

    You must complete the following two steps to be considered:

    1. Take the Personal Finance Video Course found HERE
    1. The fully completed and signed Disrupt Gives Rental Assistance Program Application Form, which is found HERE

    How long until I find out if I was approved for rental assistance?

    You will find out if you were approved for rental assistance from Disrupt Gives anywhere between 1 and 2 months from the initial submission of your application.

    How will rental assistance be made?

    If your application is approved, your rental relief funds will be sent to your property, who will then apply directly to your account.

    How will I be notified of approved rental assistance?

    Upon the approval of your application, the resident and property manager will receive an approval
    email from a Disrupt Gives associate providing a breakdown of awarded fund approved for rental assistance, along with the estimated timeline of the rental credit after approval.
